Community Partnership

At LHS, we know it takes "a whole village to raise a child" and that education is richer and more powerful when schools work in partnership with the community beyond the school gates.

Over the years we have forged many quality community partnerships. These partnerships comprise important relationships with local businesses, local schools as well as bigger businesses and organisations, including universities.

As mentioned elsewhere on this website, we belong to the Kurrajong Learning Community of schools where staff and students from four local primary schools and one other high school combine with us to share teaching and learning strategies and innovative educational ideas.

Our students enjoy a variety of mentoring, work placement and extra-curricular experiences through our enduring community partnerships.

The school has a long standing partnerships with Western Sydney University and the Fast Forward program and the University of Technology, Sydney with the Sky High program. In addition, our partnership with the Australian Business Community Network (ABCN) sees our Year 11 students mentored with members of the business community in the Aspirations program and IEC students buddied up with business mentors through the Interact program.

Other partnerships include the Pacific Waves program and PacFest, a range of Aboriginal arts and cultural connection programs, SW Connect, Mainfreight, Transfield and the Toni Mac Growth Coaching program.
