Sport and Recreation was introduced for the first time at Lurnea High School in 2013 to provide all students with an opportunity to participate in physical and recreational activity on a weekly basis. This practice has aligned with that of our neighbour schools.
Students select from a range of sports each term such as oz tag, tennis, ice skating, ten pin bowling, touch football, volleyball and basketball. Alternatively they can select from a range of recreational activities including drama, music groups, cultural expression groups, board games, robotics, arts and textiles.
Sport and Recreation is an enjoyable weekly program involving all staff and students in an atmosphere of relaxed fun and mutual respect. Students can work on their fitness routines through the more physical activities or develop their social and collaborative skills in recreational pursuits.
